A resource like this only works if you can trust that no one is paying to influence what it says. So we're clear and public about how it can be supported — and about the money we will never take.
Ways to support this resource
- Grants. Funding from foundations focused on health literacy, aging, or community health — grants that support the mission without any stake in individual coverage decisions.
- Sponsorship / underwriting, done right. Public-broadcasting style: a clearly disclosed, non-conflicted supporter's name, with zero editorial control over any content.
- Spread the word. The most valuable help costs nothing: if MediPrimer helped you, tell a friend who's turning 65, or ask your local senior center, library, or SHIP to link to it.
Funding we will not accept
To keep this site trustworthy, we do not accept funding, sponsorship, advertising, or affiliate arrangements from anyone with a stake in which coverage you choose. That means no money from:
- Insurance companies or Medicare Advantage plans
- Insurance agents, brokers, or lead-generation companies
- Pharmaceutical companies
- Any advertising networks or affiliate/referral programs
We also don't sell or share your data — there's nothing to sell, because we don't collect it.
Our editorial-independence promise
Any support we accept comes with one non-negotiable condition: no supporter, donor, or grantor has any say over what we write. Content is based solely on official government sources and our commitment to plain, neutral, accurate information. If a supporter ever asked us to soften, slant, or steer our content, we would decline the support. Supporters are disclosed; influence is not for sale. See our Editorial Standards.
Thank you for helping keep independent, plain-language health-coverage information free for the people who need it.
